One of the primary objectives of the MSC Chain of Custody (CoC) Program Review is to enable greater growth for food service companies and organizations selling directly to final seafood consumers. These ‘consumer-facing organizations’ (CFOs) include contract caterers, restaurant chains, fish counters at retailers, and independent restaurants and fishmongers. Enabling Outcomes provided comparative research with other certification schemes and advice as to different approaches for Chain of Custody Program improvements that would help to make the compliance process more user-friendly for these organizations whilst still maintaining the credibility of the MSC eco-label. The work of Enabling Outcomes helped MSC to shape the options presented for its public consultation on the CoC Program.
