This case study was commissioned by Syngenta Foundation for Sustainable Agriculture (SFSA) as a part of the Scaling Community of Practice’s initiative to document learning on funders’ experience in mainstreaming scaling.
Enabling Outcomes interviewed SFSA staff members and stakeholders to put together this case study in collaboration with the SFSA team.
This was a piece of work commissioned by Primark. It wanted to further explore and evaluate the Training of Trainers (ToT) model. Using desk-based research and semi-structured interviews with training experts and ToT practitioners, we explored the effectiveness of ToTs and what good practice looks like in using ToTs to stimulate behavior change.

Enabling Outcomes conducted a midterm review of Fairtrade International’s 2021-2025 strategy: The Future Is Fair. The team assessed progress and performance to date, and analyzed the internal and external context and factors inhibiting and enabling implementation. Working with insights across the Fairtrade system, the team presented recommendations for focus and implementation to the Fairtrade International Board.
Enabling Outcomes partners with Primark to improve the partnerships and monitoring and evaluation of its ethical trade projects portfolio. Work has included a deep-dive evaluation of a grantee that delivers training on life skills and worker rights to workers in the garment sector in India, research on grievance hotlines, partnership coaching and facilitation, training of trainers research, and KPI development.
IDEA Start is Planned Parenthood Global’s incubation and acceleration program aimed at organizations and social impact companies that want to strengthen their business models and business plans, to focus on the creation of disruptive and innovative solutions, products and services that impact the health and reproductive rights of millions of people. Enabling Outcomes evaluated the business development support in Latin America to help inform IDEA Start “2.0”.
Enabling Outcomes, in collaboration with seasoned consultants Chintal Barot (CoSustain) and Siobhan Franklin (FrankIt), worked with Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs and trade to analyze existing and emerging private sector engagement (PSE) for sustainable development by OECD and EU member states and provided recommendations for current and any future PSEs to be established by Ireland for its development programming. The work included a mapping exercise, a SWOT analysis, and recommendations for the role that PSE could play in achieving Ireland’s development goals.
